Lynne Ferguson - Centre Director
Welcome to Kip McGrath Westville - the Education Centre with the holistic approach.
I as an experienced and hands on teacher believe that education is more than just academics, my staff and I view the psychological development of our students to be just as important as the academic development and therefore the Centre provides a warm, inviting and nurturing environment in which learning can be at its most effective.
I took over the Centre in August 1998 and, over the years, we have become a successful, solid and reliable support base for students, parents and schools alike. Many past pupils - some from as far back as 10 years ago - still pop in for a visit! One past pupil, on his last visit, was heard to say, "I loved this place and missed it so much when I left school and went on to University". My experience spans teaching and holding management positions in Pre-school through to High School. I also spent 9 years teaching in a Remedial school and 2 years Tertiary lecturing in the Faculty of Education to teacher trainees in the area of New Maths, Language Arts and Multiple Intelligence. I believe that the EQ (Emotional Quotient) of a child is just as important, if not more so, than the proverbial IQ. My purpose and passion in life is to help each and every child reach their full potential.
"Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow."
